This vintage 80's Peugeot Equipe frame is still in great condition and remains a true cruiser. Originally, it only had a rear brake and a small groupset—perfect for casual rides but not exactly ideal for everyday commuting. After riding it myself, I had reservations about its stopping power, and I could feel that it needed more security for those quick, unexpected stops.
So, I went back to the workbench and upgraded both the front and rear brakes with modern replacements. Now, this bike offers a more practical, everyday ride without sacrificing its classic charm. You still won’t win any races, but you’ll feel more confident on commutes, local pub trips, or anywhere the road takes you.
Sometimes, you get a bike that doesn’t need much tinkering, but small changes make a big difference. This Peugeot has stood the test of time, and now it’s even better suited for the road.
